Cancer does come with a lot of horrific things but like you said - it also opens our eyes to so much more. To the limits we ourselves can go, the strength we never knew we had and also the ability to see beyond our own suffering. It makes us into much more empathetic and compassionate individuals who understand that everyone carries their own troubles, struggles and pains. It is like being able to see everything so very clearly for the first time. xxxTeamobbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08600496247006586002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609734477228946286.post-77989367703447456862014-03-23T08:46:44.439+01:002014-03-23T08:46:44.439+01:00Absolutely agree with that statement. this was an enormously insightful and ...dear Kate,

this was an enormously insightful and inspiring post, well said with such passion and truth. as you process your experiences and share the good, the bad, and the ugly, I hear in your voice the need and desire to be true to yourself, to see yourself in all that defines you as not just a cancer patient, but also as a wife, mother, daughter, friend, co-worker - and a real work in progress. I am glad that you are leaning into the grief you feel, and that you speak of it as a true reality that cannot be stuffed away or denied. but you balance that so well with expressing the wonder and the gratitude you feel just "being". you are wise beyond your years, and that is a good thing, but I am sorry the wisdom has extracted such a huge price to be paid.

do all you are able to take good care of yourself, and celebrate the "in-between times" of grief and growing pains. and I love that you pointed out how those whom we love also suffer, and need understanding, support and compassion. coming to that expansiveness of caring so deeply about others is something that always takes me to a place of gratitude, a place where I can get "outside" of myself to see the bigger picture. I am so glad that you've attained that quality - it can see you through many a hard time. so glad you to see this post, to know you are stronger, wiser, and living life in spite of all the unknowns. keep writing, Kate! and keep loving LIFE!

much love and light to you, my Friend,

Karen xoxo

Karen tccomments2013https://www.blogger.com/profile/00446394638074551345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609734477228946286.post-77459848721280230422014-02-23T13:27:35.889+01:002014-02-23T13:27:35.889+01:00The most important thing is that you are still her...The most important thing is that you are still here.
